FAQ

The Ins And Outs of How We Do Business

  • What are the benefits of epoxy flooring?
    1. Strength - After applying the epoxy on and has been converted to a solid polymer, it becomes totally strong and prevents chemical breakdown. It can even increase the concrete surface strength from 3,000 psi to 10,000 psi. 2. Resistance - It can block harmful elements that are sure to encroach on high-traffic spaces. It also bears the brunt of heavy shock, heat, chemicals and water. It’s perfect for garages since cars can emit many corrosive chemicals. 3. Durability - Concrete floors coated in epoxy last longer and resist considerable wear, thus saving your money and allowing you to manage other concerns. 4. Low maintenance cleaning - Once concrete has the epoxy coating, it is no longer porous since it is already sealed and therefore, easier to clean. 5. Long Lasting - After the initial application, epoxy will not need to be redone for an extended amount of time. The coating endures longer than other concrete flooring finishes because of its resistance to shock, water and even stains. 6. Practical - If you want to establish a flooring that you won’t have to replace regularly over the years, epoxy is a practical option for preparing garages, rooms and other concrete flooring areas for long-term satisfaction. 7. Aesthetic and modern finish - Epoxy Coatings are usually available in an range of colours and patterns to fit your specific style. 8. Safety and Visibility - Epoxy coatings are also resistant to slippage, temperature, extreme impact and even fire, maintaining the safety of your property. Most epoxy choices have an intense sheen that produces an elegant look, and this shiny quality can keep you safe by increasing the amount of light in a space. 9. Compatible with Vehicle - It keeps vehicles and their tires in top shape with its uniform surface. Concrete may add more wear on your tires, while epoxy’s smoothness will produce little to no reaction from your tires. Take note, concrete alone will corrode over time from the weight of your vehicle and require restorative services. 10. Helps the environment - Lastly, epoxy coatings are a green option for your business because of the reduction in material usage. Although it is a chemical compound, epoxy is an eco-friendly option because it requires few materials and does not need to be replaced continuously. If you are looking for a green flooring option that is also cost-effective, attractive and strong, epoxy flooring should be your selection for your garage or room.
  • How to get a quote?
Getting a quote is easy and free. Just click the Get a quote button and fill up the necessary details. We recommend you to indicate the type of service that you want and the size of the area. For concreting, we recommend that we will do a site inspection of the area as there are various factors that will affect the quote. We cannot guarantee urgent requests as we are consistently booked for at least a month. For more information, please email us directly at info@happyconcrete.com.au.
  • How durable is an epoxy floor?
An epoxy floor is very durable. The compressive strength of an epoxy floor is 50-55 MPa. It can tolerate heavy impact just like concrete. It can last up to 5 or more years depending on the purpose of the floor and the foot traffic.
  • How to maintain an epoxy floor?
A freshly done epoxy floor can achieve its full hardness in 7 days. However, we recommend that you let the epoxy fully cure for a month without any harsh, abrasive material running through it. Cleaning an epoxy floor is very easy. Simply mop it with water or any floor detergent. Try your best to avoid using strong acids.
  • What is the process for concrete resurfacing and epoxy floor installation?
Our team follows an industry standard epoxy application. No shortcuts. First, our team will conduct 2 stages of grinding, to be followed by concrete repairs as cracks are usually shown after grinding the top layer. Lastly, 5 coats of epoxy will be applied for epoxy flakes system and 2 coats (or more) for plain epoxy. The job is usually done within 2 to 3 days or more depending on the weather.
